Forresters Helping Hand

Interesting fact: since 2003, Forresters Car club has donated a total of £23,293 to charities. This has been raised by members at events such as quizzes and also raffles at the annual awards evening. Competitors have also donated at the rallies we organise at DIO Caerwent.

The chosen charities have been linked to members of Forresters. Charities have included McMillian, Latch, Joshua Foundation, Association for the Blind and Alzheimer’s as they have close links to some of our members.
The club was happy to support club members Andy and Helen Campling in raising money for The Grand Appeal for Bristol Children’s Hospital, to say thank you for the lifesaving heart operation they performed on their son. Ben can be seen around the service areas of many rallies having a sit in some of his favourite rally cars.

One charity we have donated to on several occasions is the Wales Air Ambulance. Not only is this a lifesaving privately funded emergency service for everyone, but in the remote environments in which rallies take place, they have been essential emergency backup. Two of our own members have had the help of the Air Ambulance to help get them to hospital after motorsport accidents.

Forresters Car Club Chairman Neil Fuller says “I am proud to be part of a club where members and friends have given generously over the years to charities that help people who have been less fortunate than most of us”.
